I absolutely agree with what you said about about the transportation, exploration and the lack of immersion in modern, mostly mainstream games. The photos are spectacular! This was a truly pleasant read, especially because I’ve always been wondering about the influences that morphed “Proteus” into what it is today, since the first time I played the Alpha demo. :)

Those pictures remind me of Scotland :) Walking around Orkney was truly a Proteus experience :)

I went on a family holiday to Orkney a long time ago. A really spectacular place: Maes Howe, Skara Brae, the Old Man of Hoy… It’s definitely a place that I’ve thought about while making Proteus!
